This TEK states that each student must be able to demonstrate knowledge and appropriate use of operating systems, software applications, communication and networking components. This is techology that my students will be able to carry with them for the rest of their lives. These are the basics, my students will be able to apply and demonstrate for any career field of their desire. With Technology over taking the future this will give our students a head start and therefore prepare them for any tchnology task they will see.
3. TEK: 126.14. Technology Applications, Grade 6, beginning with school year 2012-2013. (b) - (1)
This is the most important TEK to me because it cover all the areas and concepts that will prepare our children for a technolgy driven future! The TEK states that the development into the curriculum must cover 6 concepts for our student: 1. creativity and innovation, 2. communication and collaboration, 3. research and information fluency, 4. critical thinking, 5. problem solving and decision making, 6. digital citizenship and technology operations. These concepts, to me, will prepare our children for technology in the curriculum and give them a faster more hands on look in maintaining knowledge!
